Brief Introduction

 

The Department of Economic Management has a long history with lots of professionals graduating from this department. It grew out of the financial school for training carders in the nineteen fifties. The Department of Economics was founded by incorporating the specialties of economics in former Financial School, Agricultural School and Commercial School in 2002, and it was renamed Department of Economic Management in 2006.

 

The department has a faculty and staff of 55 with 5 professors, 7 associate professors, 24 lecturers, 14 teaching assistants, and 1 experimentalist assistant. It has 5 visiting professors, 52 part-time teachers, 5 academic leaders, and 6 specialty leaders. The teachers with master's degree number 29, with dual credentials number 35, which take up 56.8% and 68.6% of all teachers respectively. The average age of all teachers is 38. Teachers from other provinces are 13, which take up 21.8%. There are 3 excellent courses at the school level, and 12 research projects have been finished, 9 items won prefectural or provincial awards, 2 items won state awards. More than 90 papers were published with 25 published on Chinese core periodicals, and at least 30 teaching materials were edited.

 

The department has 7 specialties including accounting computerization, asset evaluation and management, e-business, marketing and planning, finance and insurance, and investment and financing. There is a teaching training center, academic communication center, research center of economic and social development in Wuling Mountain, and so on.

 

The department is the designated training unit of accounting computerization, training unit of continuing education for accountants, and accountant qualification test center in Guizhou province, which approved by the Finance Department of Guizhou in 2003. It has built cooperative relations with such universities as Guizhou University of Finance and Economics, Guizhou University, Jiangxi University of Finance and Economics, and Kuala Lumpur Infrastructure University College (KLIUC). Besides, it has also owned many strategic partners including Guizhou Huanchuang Security, GOME, etc.
