Number of HSK Test Participants in Our College Reaches a New High

 As a national standardized exam, HSK is the most popular official assessment criterion system that tests and rates international students’ Chinese language proficiency. Our college—Tongren Polytechnic College, is the only vocational college that is qualified to hold HSK exams in Guizhou province. It has been trying to promote Chinese language training through testing in order to improve Chinese teaching quality. This year, the test has been held 4 times, respectively at April 22, May 20, June 11 and July 15 for more than 400 international students from Guizhou University, Guizhou Normal University, Zunyi Medical College, Qiannan Normal University for Nationalities, Tongren University, Guizhou Vocational Technology Institute etc.

The number of HSK test-takers and its success rate has been rising against the previous years. According to the statistics, up to 433 international students have taken the exam this year while only 223 participated in 2016 and those who passed the exam account for over 97 percent.

The number of test-takers to our college has increased year by year since it was designated as a test center. Statistics show that there are more than 1026 international students taken the test here from HSK level 3 to level 6, and these students are mostly from Laos, Bangladesh, United States, Indonesia, Syria, Mongolia, Russia, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Thailand and so on. Our test center will meet the various demands of the international students, offering them a platform for Chinese language learning and evaluation, which will boost the popularity of our college at the same time.
